The production company PIPSER d.o.o. was founded in 2012 by producer Miljenka Čogelja and director Đuro Gavran.
They both gained experience working on the projects with the Pipser production, but also independently. One of the biggest successes so far is our first feature film Safe Place, director Juraj Lerotić’s feature debut, which premiered at the 75th Locarno Film Festival as part of the Concorso Cineasti del Presente competition program, where it won awards for Best Director, Best Actor (Goran Marković) and Best Debut Feature Film of the Festival. Following its great success in Locarno, the film won four awards at the Sarajevo Film Festival: Two Hearts of Sarajevo for Best Feature Film and Best Male Role (director Lerotić), the CICAE Award and the Cineuropa Award. The film was also the Croatian candidate for the 95th Academy Award. So far, the film has been screened at more than 35 festivals and has won 18 awards. International distribution was handled by the worldwide distribution company CERCAMON.
Our award-winning documentaries: One of Us, The Verdict and News from Laayoun, directed by Đuro Gavran, have been screened at numerous national and international festivals and have won major awards.
